Product Description

PYCNOGENOL 30mg 60 CAPS

Pycnogenol (PYC) is a concentrated natural extract from the bark of pine trees that are grown in the Landes Forest of southwest France. This particular type of pine tree is the only species of tree that grows in this 4,000 square mile forest.

What is pycnogenol used for?

These pine trees contain concentrated levels of unique flavonoid compounds that support your body's ability to neutralize free-radicals. Free-radicals can inhibit immune function and speed up the aging process. Studies cited at the National Institutes of Health suggest Pycnogenol may be useful in increasing NK cell (immune function) and even safer than aspirin for reducing adverse blood clotting after smoking. (see below)

Research on the benefit of Pycnogenol

These studies on Pycnogenol are all referenced by the US Government on the National Institutes of Health Website (nih.gov)

Inhibition of smoking-induced platelet aggregation by aspirin and pycnogenol.

This study showed that "a single, high dose, 200 mg Pycnogenol, remained effective for over 6 days against smoking-induced platelet aggregation." It also suggested it may be safer to use than aspirin for this!
